Turns out Australia is the best country for Americans to move to after the pandemic.
We say Americans but truthfully, it would be a good move for anyone! Even if you’re from New Zealand.
So what makes it so great? Koalas for a start. The accent. The sun. Being able to say g’day mate. Lots of simple reason. But there are also some backed-up “serious” reason which you should consider if you’re tired of your surroundings.
The sixth-best country for expats — according to an HSBC survey — Australia achieved the second-best score for physical and mental wellbeing, and the third-best score for quality of life.
If that’s not good enough, how about a low crime rate, affordable properties and groceries?
You can also look forward to free, high quality healthcare, as well as a your pick of jaw-dropping sights, from the transcendent Great Barrier Reef to Uluru and the wilds of the Outback.
If you want your kids to grow up surrounded by opportunities to explore nature and meet a massive variety of animals, like Koalas (!), then think about making the pilgrimage down under.
On top of all these benefits, there’s leisure. Surfing after work, on weekends, moseying around one of the nation’s national parks.
And did we mention the weather?
Australia enjoys around 3,000 hours of sunshine per year — double the amount some of us get.
Last but in no way least, the relatively isolated nature of Australia, and New Zealand for that matter, also means that they should suffer less from the effects of COVID-19 than some other countries.
